GALLOWAY GOURMET MUSHROOMS

Premium Gourmet mushrooms
from the forests of Galloway.

Rooted in Galloway. Grown with Care.

We’re a small, family-run business based in the beautiful Galloway countryside in southwest Scotland. What began as a passion for sustainable growing has grown into a commitment to producing high-quality gourmet mushrooms — with a deep respect for nature, nutrition, and our local environment.

Our speciality is Lion’s Mane — a unique, shaggy mushroom prized not only for its delicate, seafood-like flavour but also for its powerful nootropic properties. Often referred to as “the mushroom for the mind,” Lion’s Mane has been used for centuries in traditional medicine to support focus, memory, and cognitive wellbeing.

We’re just getting started — new gourmet mushrooms will be joining our offering very soon, each carefully selected for flavour, texture, and nutritional value.

What Is Lions' Mane?

Hericium erinaceus, commonly known as Lion’s Mane, is easily recognised by its cascading spines and soft, snow-white appearance. Sometimes called pom pom or bearded tooth mushroom, it’s native to North America, Europe, and Asia, and typically grows on dead or dying hardwood trees. Although it once grew wild across the UK, Lion’s Mane is now considered endangered here and is protected by law — meaning it cannot be foraged from the wild.

Fortunately, it’s gaining new popularity as a cultivated mushroom — not just for its fascinating appearance and culinary versatility, but also for its long-standing reputation in traditional wellness practices. While we don’t make any medical claims, many people are drawn to Lion’s Mane for its historic association with cognitive support and focus.

What we can say with certainty is: it’s absolutely delicious.

With a delicate, spongy texture and lightly sweet, citrusy flavour, Lion’s Mane is a joy to cook with — and makes a brilliant plant-based alternative to crab or lobster when shredded.
